Future of Farming : AI Farming

Human life expectancy has been increased sharply during last century.Population is exploding like never before in the history. The global population is expected to reach 9 billion people by 2050, which means double agricultural production in order to meet food demands.World is also facing threat from Climate Change.

Some evidence suggests that droughts have been occurring more frequently because of global warming and they are expected to become more frequent and intense in Africa, southern Europe, the Middle East, most of the Americas, Australia, and Southeast Asia. However, other research suggests that there has been little change in drought over the past 60 years.Their impacts are aggravated because of increased water demand, population growth, urban expansion, and environmental protection efforts in many areas. Droughts result in crop failures and the loss of pasture grazing land for livestock.

World will demand more food but our resources are either less or they are degrading. We cant depend on GM fruits and crops. Now we have techniques like hydroponics, precision farming etc.  AI will drastically change our farming techniques.Drones will used for seeding without wastage.AI assistant will analyses water requirement of each region, crop using sensors. This will reduce the wastage of water. Pre-programmed robot will analyze the health of each crop-let and provide necessary nourishment of water ,pesticides and fertilizers. This will drastically increase efficiency of the crop field which give rise more food product and less labor. This will increase the crop products per area, per time and per labour hour.Fertilizers will get directly injected to the soil around the roots ,herbicide and insecticide  on affected area,  it will decrease the chances of infertility of soil in near future .Programmed unmanned vehicles and machines will do process and packaging of products.Driver less trucks will transport these products to your nearby stores.
